I had the best Saturday afternoon in 31 years of living in Brussels (and ran the most ever in that time too). Gerald showed me the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings on my doorstep! With great explanations too. An excellent way to combine what I love about Brussels and burning calories at the same time (which Gerald replaced at the end with a free bar of Cote d'or chocolate "Praline 58" and more history was learnt). Merci beaucoup Gérald!

St Gilles is an amazing small commune in Brussels, with an impressiv architecture. But you need to know where to look up and how to find your way. CityRuns offers you a great opportunity of finding interesting buildings, discovering their history and some details with a guide, and having fun with your friends by physical activity! I did the 10k architecture Brussels run with Sebastien in the last week of August. I'd not been to Brussels before so it was a great way to see much of the central city, and to be able to understand much more of its history and evolution. Sebastien was good company and entertained all my questions. Highly recommended!

Excellent cartoon run

We discovered with Gerald the nicest cartoons and street art of Brussels. We visited Brussels already many times but we discovered many new places. Gerals is a very nice and intertaining guide who really knows all the spots in Brussels. Great experience !

Best way to discover Brussels

It was a great experience to discover Brussels while running with Gérald.
Great guy who knows the city like his back pocket and tells interesting stories on Brussels highlights combined with small funny anecdotes. I can recommend it to everyone who want's to take a tour around Brussels.

City Run Tour

I did a 1.5 hour 5.25 mile city run tour with Sébastien in Brussels. The tour was very good. We covered historical parts of the city and comic murals painted on buildings. Sébastien was very accommodating with my schedule and very friendly. He packed water for our run and a bit of chocolate for after. If you enjoy running, this is a nice way to see the city!

A very enjoyable and educational experience

I did the St Gilles tour with Gerard and I would unconditionally recommend the experience! This neighborhood is teeming with beautiful art nouveau buildings and by the end of the tour you will be able to recognize the style and major architects. Gerard was a very friendly and hospitable guide with a great sense of humor and as a Greek I was surprised and amazed at his hidden ace: to do the tour in Greek!! It made me feel really at home. As to the level of physical activity required, the tour is really suitable even for beginners because there are lots of stops to admire the beautiful buildings and learn about the local history of the area.

Surprisingly interesting city, great running guide!

To be honest, I did not know much about Charleroi before I went there for a running tour, but now I must say that I actually find it to be a a pretty interesting city to visit. The experience with my guide and the information I got from him, certainly contributed to that! Gérald took my around the city while he elaborated on the city's rich industrial and architectural history. Certainly about the latter, Gérald had a lot to show me. The pace was adapted to my need, Gérald had brought along a water bottle, we stopped for some pictures etc., it really seemed like he thought of everything.

If you want to visit Charleroi and do it running, Gérald is the best guide you can imagine! I can certainly recommend this activity!!

Informative and Humorous Run Through Downtown Brussels

I highly recommend booking a running tour through downtown Brussels. The city is bigger than I thought and it is quite easy to miss things if you do not know your way around. I was lucky to have two guides, as it was Sebastian's first tour - but you would never know it. He was very knowledgable and could answer all of my questions. The guides shared a lot of history and a lot of humor. It was a great value as well! Book your tour before you go - you won't regret it!

City Runs Brussels 'Europe' tour - great introduction to Brussels

I booked a tour with City Runs because they had a better selection of different tours (over different distances), and better prices than the other running tour companies. Gérald was quick to reply to my booking and to communicate with me when he had to change our arrangements for a tour guide. As I organised my booking at fairly short notice, he had some difficulty confirming the availability for an English-speaking tour guide. He offered to refund me, but I was keen to run anyway, so we got by with a combination of his English (which was perfectly adequate for the tour despite his misgivings) and my rusty French. I deliberately chose the 'Europe' tour as I was interested to see the various EU institutions which I knew my family wouldn't otherwise have the time or inclination to visit. He met me in the city centre, very close to our accommodation near the Grand Place, and I got to see the palace, Cinquentenaire Park, and some beautiful art nouveau buildings (some designed by Victor Horta), as well as the European Parliament, European Commission, Council of Europe, and the Palais de Justice (from a distance). He was happy to meet early in the morning, which meant I could get my run in and still have the day left for family activities. It was a great experience.

Best activity I have done in Brussels (besides running the Brussels Marathon)

I spent Friday morning (October 26, 2018) on a running tour with Marc Anthonissen -- a wonderful tour guide who was a great ambassador for Brussels (Marc is a retired school teacher who has done lots of marathons and half marathons). What was supposed to be a 90 minute running tour turned out to be a 2 hours and 45 minutes excursion of the city. We visited so many different landmarks and historical sites, including the Brussels City Wall; we stopped to admire architecture and art work such as comic strip walls; we stopped to take in beautiful views of the city at various view points. Marc was kind enough to take photos of me. He also pointed out great cafes to check out later. Later in the day when I ventured out on my own, I realized that I had already visited so many of the sites on my list (and on Brussels tourism site) -- but the best part was that I was able to do so without the crowds (e.g. Mannekin-Pis statue). The City Runs Downtown Brussels tour was by far the best thing I have done in my six day stay here, other than running the Brussels Marathon this morning. This is a great activity for runners - regular and casual - of all speeds. The price is super reasonable--and the experience memorable. Thank you so much for showing me Brussels, Marc!

Best way to see the city

I loved running with Marc from City Runs. I saw more of the city with him than I had seen the two days prior — and I saw neighborhoods that I would not found on my own.

I highly recommend the tour if you are a runner. I booked early morning to avoid people and to see the sunrise. It was gorgeous. Plus, Marc gets runners. He was chatty and interesting but not too chatty. The perfect amount of talk. He gave me insight into a lot of the historical sites and was able to answer my questions.

Kind guides, quick response and very flexible

Booked very last minute the Art Novou tour in English in Saint Gilles because it was close to my hotel. Immediate response and highly flexible to adapt the tour to my schedule. Had the privilege of two guides on the trip. One who took photos along the way and one explaining what we saw. Very kind and pleasant people, very flexible and reliable. Good value for money experience!

Perfect Way to Begin a Holiday in a New Place!

My husband and I have never done a running tour before and after this experience we look forward to our next. Our tour guide in Bruges was Nicholas and we greatly enjoyed meeting him and listening to a real local share the history of the town he so obviously loves. He was respectful to our different running abilities and tailored our tour to what was Important to us. I haven’t enjoyed myself that much on a run in a long time.
I appreciated doing this tour at the beginning of our stay in Bruges. It gave us a perspective of the region and we were better able to get the most out of our short time there. I recommend booking an early morning tour to beat the crowds.
This company has a really good thing going and I highly recommend them!

Fit and fun

The concept is great, discoverig a part of the city while jogging. So I chose the city center... and I learned a lot! despite living in Brussels for over 10 years there were loads of things I had never seen, parks I never entered... And it was great fun too, never laughed so much while jogging. Very accessible for those not used to intensive running since the group stops every now and then to sightsee or to listen to Gerald... Great moment in Brussels... a must-do

Great experience

Only had 1 afternoon in Brussels so booked in for downtown tour with city runs. Enjoyed a great run with my guide Caroline who was very informative and friendly. I saw and learnt so much more,than I would ever have on my own. Great way to combine sightseeing and a casual run. Well organised company, quick response to emails and easy payment. Definitely recommend!

The best way to visit the city
